Chalet Publishers Submission Guidelines

Welcome to Chalet, the author-friendly publishing house that is looking for the very best manuscripts in the world. Yours just could be one of them. Book and e-book sales have never been greater, therefore, the number of books on the market is remarkable. We would like the chance to look at your manuscript and here are some of the things you need to keep in mind when sending your work to Chalet:

Genres We Accept

Fiction but no novels with intense adult themes. If your book is a romance, we ask that the love scenes be in good taste, nothing explicit.
Non-fiction - query us regarding your topic before submission.
YA – young adult.

Editing

Your manuscript must be thoroughly edited before submission. Always send your best work. Your book will be rejected if it is poorly written.

Style and Format

Basic grammar and punctuation is a must.
Single space all pages.
Start a chapter on a new page, using a page break, not the "Enter" key.
Do not place an extra line between paragraphs.
Use one space between sentences.
Indent a paragraph by using the Tab Key and only indent .3 inches.
Use a readable font such as Times New Roman 12 pt.

Now, if you have a completed novel, 75,000 to 100,000 words [novellas can be 40,000 - 50,000 words] that is a match for one of our genres, we want to see it. Send a query letter in the body of an email. We accept only electronic submissions. In this email we must have your contact information and knowledge of any previously published works. In addition, please send a brief summary of your story, along with Chapter 1 of your novel. Also, specify your genre and word count. Send this information to chaletpublishers@cox.net.

Once we have received your submission packet, our editorial staff will respond within 4 to 6 weeks, most times sooner.

Remember, we are looking for the next bestseller – send us your work. We are eager to receive it.
